“You’re welcome here just as you are—made in God’s image and likeness.” These are the words of welcome I share at the start of each Sunday morning worship service. At Feast of Victory Lutheran Church we don't claim to have all the answers, but we do faithfully seek to live authentically into our calling as the body of Christ, freed to love and serve God and respond to the needs in our community with words and deeds that reflect the expansive love of Jesus.
As an ELCA congregation, and in response to the call in Romans 15:7, "Welcome one another, therefore as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God," we believe that every person has worth as an individual and every person is entitled to dignity and respect. We welcome people of every age, nationality, race, gender, orientation, and ability into the membership of our church, and we encourage everyone to share their faith, gifts, and talents in worship, service, study, and leadership.
I invite you to come as you are and witness the joy and support of faith-filled community. Check out the present opportunities for connection and let us, together, faithfully consider the future of the church.
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Haley Vay Beaman (she/her/hers)
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States. Known as the church of "God's Work, Our Hands," The ELCA emphasizes the saving grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, unity among Christians, and service in the world. The ELCA's roots are in the writings of the German church reformer, Martin Luther.
